When is the last time you were on a field trip with your students? How engaged were you with your students? Were you taking a break from teaching since you had a naturalist/environmental educator leading the program? Or maybe you were leading and/or engaged until Susy picked up a muddy wet oyster or a slimy frog and you said something like "Put that down! That's wet/dirty!" When your student dropped the critter they also dropped their sense of wonder and a mentor to share that excitement with! Learn the "dos and don'ts" of getting outside your comfort zone and projecting your new confidence on to your students! This session pairs with James Frank’s session in the previous block titled “Ditch the Plan”. Go to his - then come to mine! NOTE: participants in this workshop will be asked to bring a towel, feet and legs (more with challenge by choice) that they may choose to get wet, cold and sandy for a true comfortable/uncomfortable challenge at the end of the session. That is all :)
